About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backup & Database Engineer with strong expertise in Cohesity data protection and Microsoft SQL Server administration . The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing backup and recovery solutions while ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of SQL databases across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage and maintain Cohesity backup and recovery solutions across enterprise infrastructure.
Administer, monitor, and optimize MS SQL Server databases (on-prem and cloud).
Develop and maintain backup policies, schedules, and retention strategies aligned with business continuity requirements.
Perform regular database and backup health checks , capacity planning, and performance tuning.
Execute and validate data recovery and disaster recovery (DR) tests .
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure data integrity and compliance .
Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures, database performance issues , and storage-related challenges.
Document technical procedures, backup configurations, and recovery steps.

Required Skills & Experience :

10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with a focus on database administration and backup solutions .

Hands-on expertise in Cohesity DataProtect (installation, configuration, policy management, restores).

Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server (2016 or later) including backup / restore operations, replication, mirroring, and AlwaysOn.

Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, T-SQL).

Good understanding of storage, virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V) , and cloud backup integrations (Azure / AWS).

Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management best practices.

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

Cohesity Certified Professional or equivalent certification.

Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate / SQL Server certification.

Experience supporting enterprise-scale environments .
