Job Purpose
To ensure timely recruitment and deployment of workers (skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled) for shop floor operations, while also managing worker welfare facilities such as dormitories / hostels, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and creating a safe living environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manpower Requirement Planning : Collect and consolidate worker-level manpower requirements from production, maintenance, quality, and logistics departments. Anticipate seasonal / manpower fluctuations and absenteeism replacements.Sourcing & Recruitment : Source workers through job fairs, local employment exchanges, contractors, skill training institutes, ITIs / polytechnics, and village recruitment campaigns. Conduct worker screening (eligibility, skill test, medical fitness). Organize bulk-hiring drives and walk-in interviews.Selection & Placement : Coordinate skill / trade tests for shop-floor roles. Issue offers and ensure timely joining. Allocate workers to appropriate departments based on skill levels.Onboarding & Induction : Complete joining formalities (documents, ID verification). Conduct orientation sessions on company rules, workplace safety, and code of conduct.Dormitory / Hostel Management : Assist in setting up and managing worker dormitory / hostel facilities. Coordinate with administration and facilities teams for accommodation, food, security, and hygiene arrangements. Ensure compliance with Factories Act, Hostel / Accommodation guidelines, fire & safety norms. Implement grievance redressal mechanisms for dormitory residents.Contractor & Vendor Coordination : Liaise with manpower contractors for contract labor supply. Ensure contractor compliance with statutory laws (PF, ESI, Minimum Wages, etc.). Coordinate with vendors for hostel food supply, housekeeping, and maintenance.Database & Reporting : Maintain worker database (direct + contract + hostel residents). Track daily worker attendance and dormitory occupancy. Submit manpower and hostel reports to management.Compliance & Worker Welfare : Ensure recruitment and accommodation comply with labor laws, statutory guidelines, and buyer compliance standards. Facilitate audits (social, compliance, statutory).Key Skills & Competencies
Strong worker recruitment and bulk-hiring skills.Experience in setting up and managing worker dormitories / hostels.Knowledge of labor welfare and statutory compliance.Good vendor / contractor management skills.Effective communication in Tamil, Hindi & English.Educational Qualification
Graduate in any discipline.MBA / PGDM in HR / Diploma in HR & IR preferred.Experience
2–5 years of worker recruitment experience in manufacturing industry.Hands-on experience in worker dormitory / hostel setup & management.Performance Indicators (KPIs)
