Quality Assurance Automation Engineer - Playwright Testing

Role Summary :

We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright and JavaScript, complemented by solid Java programming skills.

The candidate will be responsible for API and UI automation testing of web applications and backend services.

This role requires hands-on experience with test planning, execution, debugging, and reporting within Agile teams.

The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality, reliable Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and JavaScript for UI and API testing.
• Utilize Java proficiency to support test automation frameworks and backend service validations.
• Conduct thorough testing of web applications and backend services to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Execute system testing, manage defect lifecycle, and report bugs accurately using test management tools.
• Perform debugging and root cause analysis for complex issues in UI, API, and backend systems.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and QA teams to clarify requirements and improve test coverage.
• Work with databases (SQL and NoSQL) for backend data validation and execute Linux / Unix commands for environment management.
• Proactively identify risks and potential issues in applications and escalate them timely.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing effectively to team and Qualifications :
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in QA test automation using Playwright and JavaScript.
• Strong programming skills in Java, with experience supporting automation frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of API and UI automation testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience testing web applications and backend services in complex environments.
• Familiarity with system testing processes, bug lifecycle management, test planning, and reporting.
• Skilled in web UI, API, and mobile testing along with troubleshooting and debugging.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases for backend verification.
• Comfortable executing Linux / Unix commands for testing and environment setup.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and identify system risks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and passion for quality and automation.
• Ability to think creatively to break systems and uncover subtle, complex bugs.
• Proactive in asking clarifying questions to ensure clear understanding of Period : Immediate to 15 days
