Fire Technician

Job Description

1.

Installation & Commissioning

Install fire protection systems such as :

Fire alarms

Smoke detectors

Sprinkler systems

Fire extinguishers

Gas suppression systems

Ensure systems comply with fire safety codes and manufacturer specifications.

2.

Maintenance & Testing

Perform regular inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance of fire systems.

Check functionality of :

Fire alarms and panels

Sprinkler pressure and flow

Battery backups and sensors

Emergency lighting and signage

Identify and repair faulty components promptly.

3.

Fire Safety Compliance

Ensure all fire safety systems meet local fire department regulations, building codes, and standards (e.g.,

NFPA ,

IS 2189 ).

Maintain documentation for audits and safety inspections.

4.

Emergency Preparedness

Assist in conducting fire drills and evacuation procedures.

Support in developing and updating fire emergency plans.

5.

Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and safety officers during installations or repairs.

Prepare reports on system status, incident logs, and maintenance schedules.

6.

Training & Support

Educate building occupants or staff on fire equipment usage (e.g., extinguishers).

Assist in training programs related to fire safety protocols.

7.

Upgradation & Improvements

Recommend upgrades to older systems based on new technologies or regulations.

Stay updated with the latest fire safety technologies and trends.
