Software Engineer - Java Technologies

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Excellent opportunity for a motivated Software Engineer eager to learn new technologies and gain expertise in API delivery and event-driven architecture (e.g., BEM, Kafka).
• Offers visibility into how multiple systems operate across MassMutual.
• As the organization scales, the role will focus on managing technical debt and improving API uptime.
• Part of a squad responsible for tech debt remediation across multiple APIs and supporting strategic initiatives.
• The squad will ensure high-quality standards and maintain the required API uptime.
• Responsible for building and maintaining the codebase for both customer-facing and internal service APIs.
• Familiarity with standard web backend architecture and capable in database design and interaction.
• Collaborate closely with the Home office team to understand product requirements, develop new features, and maintain existing code.
• Involves both new development and bug fixing to support evolving business needs.

Skills Required :

Java Web applications

RESTful Services

JavaScript / NodeJs

Familiarity with Linux Containers (Dockers)

Strong SQL skills

Spring Framework knowledge

Familiarity with GitHub or GitLab

Preferred skills :
