The Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining instrumentation and control systems that ensure accurate monitoring and efficient operation of food and beverage manufacturing processes. This role supports automation initiatives, compliance, and continuous improvement across utilities, production lines, and packaging systems.
Key Responsibilities
Specify, install, and calibrate instruments such as flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, level indicators, and control valves.
Design and maintain PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems for process automation and monitoring.
Develop and optimize control logic, alarm systems, and interlocks to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Collaborate with process, electrical, and mechanical engineers to integrate instrumentation into new and existing systems.
Troubleshoot instrumentation faults and support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, and regulatory standards in instrumentation design and implementation.
Maintain documentation including loop diagrams, instrument index, calibration records, and SOPs.
Support commissioning, validation, and audit readiness for instrumentation systems.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering
Experience
4–8 years in instrumentation engineering within food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing
Tools
Proficiency in PLC (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA, HART protocol, and calibration tools
Certifications
ISA, ISO 9001, or relevant automation certifications preferred
Skills
knowledge of hygiene and food-grade instrumentation is a plus
