About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Venture Capital Investment Analyst to join our Investments team. This role offers hands-on experience to the world of early-stage investing, startup evaluation, portfolio company management and ecosystem engagement. You will work closely with the founder and partner of Samarthya, gaining insights into deal sourcing, deal evaluation, due diligence, portfolio management, and investor relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Evaluation - Conduct market size analysis, evaluate products / services including technology moats (Intellectual Property / Patents), assess teams, business models, and financials, identify risk factors, and analyze competitive landscapes and funding histories. Prepare detailed investment notes on potential opportunities.
- Due Diligence – Support the investment team in commercial due diligence, financial due diligence, and legal due diligence and Coordinate with professional firms to oversee their diligence findings.
- Deal Sourcing – Assist in sourcing opportunities from founder networks, investment bankers and startup ecosystem. Screen startups, review pitch decks, and conduct preliminary assessments based on deal evaluation metrics.
- Portfolio Support – Engage with portfolio companies and assist in preparation of updates on the companies, assist founders with research and go to market strategies
- Ecosystem Engagement – Attend startup events, demo days, and network with founders, accelerators, and fellow investors.
- Internal Reports & Documentation – Assist in preparing compliance documentation and internal records.
- Investor Relations - Assist in making presentations for Limited Partners (LPs) as well as investor updates.
What We're Looking For
NISM Series XIX-D exam is mandatory.Passion for startups, venture capital, and innovation.Strong analytical skills and ability to assess market trends and business models.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Background in business, finance, economics, engineering, or related fields preferred (though not mandatory).Prior experience in startups, consulting, investment banking or finance is a plus.An insatiable hunger to learn.What You'll Gain
