GIS & Asset Inventory Lead – Urban Flood Resilience

Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS & Asset Inventory Lead to spearhead a comprehensive geospatial assessment and mapping effort aimed at strengthening urban flood resilience. This role is central to building a robust, accurate, and actionable GIS-based inventory of storm-water infrastructure and related flood-risk data layers across the city. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in geospatial data integration, urban hydrology, and modern GIS platforms, and will bring a strong understanding of how spatial data informs urban flood management, infrastructure planning, and emergency preparedness. You will be responsible for designing and leading a city-wide asset mapping program that captures drains, culverts, outfalls, pumps, detention basins, flap gates, encroachments, and other critical storm-water infrastructure
Key Responsibilities :
- Leading a coordinated GIS-based mapping campaign across the city to capture storm-water and drainage infrastructure.
- Designing data collection templates and standardized schemas for multiple asset types such as drains, culverts, detention basins, pump stations, flap gates, outfalls, and encroachments.
- Overseeing the integration of diverse data sources including satellite imagery, LiDAR, digital elevation models (DEM), ground penetrating radar (GPR) records, and walkover / RTK field surveys.
- Creating and maintaining a high-quality, version-controlled geodatabase with rigorous QA / QC procedures and proper metadata standards.
- Developing thematic layers for flood-risk analysis such as impervious surface coverage, slope, infiltration potential, land use, and vulnerability indices.
- Setting up and maintaining a web-GIS system to serve interactive dashboards and support decision-making by engineers, planners, and emergency teams.
- Coordinating with municipal departments, survey agencies, and third-party consultants to ensure data consistency, spatial accuracy, and long-term maintainability of the asset inventory.

7–10 years of professional experience in GIS, with a strong focus on urban hydrology, flood risk mapping, or municipal infrastructure .Proven experience in leading large-scale, city-wide GIS projects , especially those involving drainage systems or urban asset management.Experience working with or for municipal governments, Smart Cities, AMRUT projects, or donor-funded urban infrastructure projects (e.g., World Bank, ADB, JICA) is highly desirable.How to Apply :
