Senior Database Administrator

Job Description

Deliveroo is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to support and manage our AWS RDS infrastructure. You will a serve as a coach for our software engineering and analytics teams in query and schema design, performance optimization, and all other database related matters. You will have advanced knowledge of relational database design, Aurora and Postgres features and utilities, strong tuning and optimization skills,, and the ability to manage multiple development and production RDS environments.

What you will be doing?

• Proactively monitor database performance and troubleshooting issues
• Working cross-functionally with our engineers and analytics professionals to optimize queries, fix performance bottlenecks, improve existing schemas and design new ones
• Create and maintain change control and testing processes, reviewing and approving database modifications
• Conduct research and make recommendations on data-related products, services, protocols, and standards; plan for future growth of our data assets
• Review development and deployment processes related to databases and identifying areas of improvement (such as online schema changes)
• Create and maintain documentation, troubleshooting playbooks, testing failover and recovery plans
• Improve database expertise company-wide.
• You will report into an Engineering manager.
• This is an hybrid opportunity open for both Bangalore and Hyderabad location.
