Position : SAP EWM Consultant
Location : Chennai, India
Job Summary :
SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) Consultant to join our team in Chennai, India. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of SAP EWM for our warehouses, focusing on warehouse management, production integration, and RF-driven processes. The consultant should bring expertise in SAP EWM, particularly in embedded environments, with experience in aligning warehouse operations to global templates and supporting scalability for future rollouts.
Key Responsibilities :
Implementation and Configuration :
- Configure and implement SAP Embedded EWM for warehouse operations,
- Support processes such as inbound / outbound logistics, production staging, Kanban integration, and spare part management.
Process Optimization :
Analyze and optimize warehouse workflows using SAP EWM best practices, including RF device integration and automation strategies.Develop and configure batch and serial number management, replenishment strategies, and storage optimization processes.Project Involvement :
Lead end-to-end SAP EWM implementation phases : blueprinting, design, testing, training, go-live, and post-go-live support.Act as a functional lead for SAP EWM within India and provide expertise for multiple warehouses.Collaboration and Training :
Work closely with global IT, local warehouse teams, and other SAP functional consultants to deliver seamless integration with SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, PP).Provide training to end-users and support teams on SAP EWM functionalities and workflows.Support and Maintenance :
Manage day-to-day support for SAP EWM, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing system performance.Define and implement monitoring mechanisms for technical and functional warehouse operations.Documentation and Reporting :
Create comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, process flows, and reporting templates for stakeholders.Utilize EWM reporting tools to deliver actionable insights and KPIs for warehouse operations.Requirements : Experience :
Minimum of 6 years of SAP experience, with at least 4 years of hands-on SAP EWM (preferably embedded EWM in SAP S / 4HANA).Proven track record of at least 2 full lifecycle SAP EWM implementations, including India or similar regions.Technical Knowledge :
Strong expertise in warehouse processes (e.g., picking, putaway, staging, RF integration, output management).Experience integrating SAP EWM with other modules (e.g., MM, SD, PP, PM).Familiarity with automation, Kanban processes, and spare part management.Industry Knowledge : Background in machinery, parts distribution, or manufacturing industries is highly desirable.
Skills :
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.Education : Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Information Systems, or related fields.
Desirable Skills :
SAP EWM certification.Experience with SAP S / 4HANA, decentralized EWM and embedded EWM systems.Familiarity with RF device management, automation tools, output management and lifecycle management for warehouse technologies(ref : hirist.tech)
