Key Responsibilities :
- Project Leadership & Coordination :
- Lead and coordinate assigned technical projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and effective delivery of designs.
- Define objectives, set plans, and oversee the direction of mechanical projects in aerospace control systems (CS).
- Ensure compliance with cost, producibility, reliability, testability, and maintainability goals throughout the product lifecycle.
- Engineering Analysis & Design :
- Conduct advanced engineering analyses, including structural, CFD, and thermal FEA using ANSYS or NX tools.
- Perform design, modeling, and create engineering drawings of mechanical components and systems, adhering to GD&T standards.
- Utilize engineering principles and product specifications to ensure design robustness and quality.
- Prototype Development & Testing :
- Oversee the production of prototypes and mock-ups, leading verification and margin testing for design validation.
- Support the qualification testing phase and ensure successful introduction of systems into service.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers, technicians, program management, and production staff to optimize resource utilization.
- Provide design guidance and technical support across the integrated supply chain, including production, purchasing, and customer support.
- Supplier & Vendor Management :
- Assess and select suppliers and vendors, ensuring their products meet the mechanical design specifications.
- Manage supplier transitions and resolve any manufacturing issues or challenges related to mechanical components.
- Customer & Stakeholder Interaction :
- Interface with customers to define mechanical requirements and ensure the performance of existing products meets expectations.
- Support customer needs by ensuring designs are aligned with customer specifications and quality standards.
- Mentoring & Process Improvement :
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their technical development.
- Drive growth, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives across lighting product lines, promoting productivity and quality enhancements.
Required Qualifications :
Education :M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.Experience :11-14 years of experience in mechanical design engineering with a focus on aerospace control systems and mechanical analysis.Experience in Aerospace products Mechanical Analysis is essential.Technical Skills :Expert in engineering analyses, including structural, CFD, and thermal FEA using ANSYS or NX tools.Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Proficient in 3D modeling using ProE, Catia, or equivalent CAD software.Expertise in design to cost and producibility principles for aerospace systems.Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, optimizing time and resources effectively.Additional Skills :Ability to mentor junior engineers and drive innovation within the product lines.Strong understanding of supplier management and product selection processes.Demonstrated experience in driving process improvements and productivity gains within engineering and manufacturing teams.Preferred Skills :
Knowledge of lighting product lines and their mechanical systems.Experience in managing mechanical system performance in collaboration with external customers.Skills Required
