Freelance Procurement & Category Manager

Assignment Details :

Our Client is leading consulting firm and are looking to engage with a Procurement & Category Manager.

Key Responsibilities :

Assess marine crane market in India (segment by crane type, new v / s replacement demand, etc.)

Estimate domestic and export market potential for marine cranes

Assess key purchase criteria for marine cranes by different customer segments (such as port authorities, terminal operators, Equipment leasing companies, etc.)

Evaluate different customer requirements / needs for marine cranes

Analyze contract structures, pricing mechanisms followed, etc. between marine crane manufacturers and customers

Conduct competition landscape assessment in India and global market for various marine crane manufacturers (including but not limited to- competition profiling, landed cost assessment and price benchmarking, etc.)

Assess industry trends and regulatory developments affecting crane procurement in India

Skills Required :

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Marine Engineering; MBA or postgraduate degree preferred.

Years of experience in marine crane procurement

Strong understanding of marine cranes specifications, industry standards

Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and contract structures for marine cranes

Analytical mindset with ability to assess commercial and technical considerations

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Knowledge of marine crane related certifications
