About the Role
As an IT Software Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring software solutions and licenses to meet the technology needs of our organization. Your expertise in software procurement, vendor management, and knowledge of the IT industry will be crucial in ensuring the successful acquisition and implementation of software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify software & cloud solutions that align with the organization's IT requirements and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams and business units, to understand software needs, gather requirements, and define procurement strategies.
- Source potential software vendors, manage the request for proposal (RFP) process, and evaluate vendor proposals based on factors such as functionality, pricing, support, and contractual terms.
- Negotiate favorable licensing agreements, pricing, and contract terms with software vendors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract management, performance evaluations, and ongoing communication to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to review and finalize software contracts, ensuring appropriate rights, obligations, and data protection measures are included.
- Monitor and track software license agreements, renewal dates, and compliance with licensing terms and usage rights. Implement processes to optimize license utilization and reduce costs.
- Stay informed about emerging software trends, new technologies, and industry best practices to provide recommendations for software procurement and IT strategy.
- Collaborate with IT teams to facilitate the implementation, deployment, and integration of software solutions within the organization's infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to software purchases, licenses, and vendor interactions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT procurement, software sourcing, cloud management, and vendor management.Required Skills
Strong knowledge of software licensing models, contract negotiation, and procurement processes.Familiarity with a wide range of software solutions, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), Dealer management solution (DMS), productivity tools, and infrastructure software.Excellent negotiation and communication skills to effectively interact with software vendors and internal stakeholders.
