BI Semantic Layer Expert

The position requires a highly seasoned Senior Business Intelligence Consultant with strong expertise across semantic data modelling, data integration, management, delivery, and user-centered information consumption. The ideal candidate will have led multiple enterprise-scale initiatives across the full software development lifecycle, with a primary focus on modern BI architecture & semantic layer design, platform evolution, and analytics enablement. This individual will play a critical role in designing and scaling solutions that support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Proficient with BI technologies (Power BI, ThoughtSpot, Tableau, etc.)

Proficient with Dimensional modelling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema etc.)

Fully capable of designing and verifying semantic models, analytics frameworks, and OLAP strategies

Database design for large-scale analytical workloads with performance tuning and optimization

Proficient with SQL, report forms, consumption devices, usage analytics, and access models

Ability to evaluate architectural design options and provide actionable recommendations

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to instill and reinforce a strong customer service and business-oriented ethic in the entire team

Ability to balance between data governance, technical feasibility, and business agility

Strong management and leadership skills with a proactive participative management style

Ability to work well and productively, always projecting a positive outlook in a fast-paced environment

Good to have –

Enterprise Data Management experience (data catalogues, metadata, lineage)

Requirements planning, formulation, and documentation

Subject Matter Expertise in enterprise portfolio and project data, R&D analytics, or strategic planning systems

Responsibilities :

Design and evolve BI Semantic model and BI solution that supports dynamic decision-making across functional leadership

Work with solution and enterprise architects to define scope, architectural

boundaries, and integration points

Serve as liaison to business and analytics communities to ensure solution designs reflect true stakeholder needs

Review prototypes, solution blueprints, and project milestones to validate business alignment

Raise awareness of architectural vision and collaborate with change management to support adoption strategies

Collaborate with end users to identify needs and opportunities for improved analytics consumption and data storytelling

Work closely with engineering and QA teams to ensure architectural integrity through implementation

Improve and streamline data flow, quality, and governance processes to maximize analytic value and trust

Stay current with BI and data architecture trends; educate leadership on innovations and assess organizational fit
