Job descriptionBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 5+ years of experience in virtualization engineering or system administration. Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter (required). Proficient with VMware vMotion, DRS, HA , and vSAN . Experience with Hyper-V , Nutanix , or KVM is a plus. Working knowledge of Windows Server and / or Linux OS administration. Solid understanding of storage systems (SAN / NAS), networking basics, and backup technologies. Scripting skills using PowerShell , Bash, or Python. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higher certification. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid virtualization models. Familiarity with VMware NSX , vRealize Operations , or VMware Horizon . Understanding of ITIL or similar service management frameworks. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise virtualization infrastructure , primarily using VMware vSphere , ESXi , and vCenter .
- Administer and optimize virtualized environments to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Lead infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new environment builds.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for virtual environments.
- Monitor system performance, resolve hardware / software issues, and ensure proactive system health management.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, vSphere CLI, or other scripting tools.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Work with storage, network, and security teams to integrate and secure virtual platforms.
- Provide escalation support for complex virtualization and infrastructure issues.
- Stay up to date with virtualization trends and recommend continuous improvements.
