This is a full-time job. We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Engineer located in the Chennai. The role involves specialising in PV hybrid systems ( solar + DG + Energy storage) to drive sales growth, expand market presence, and build strong client relationships. The ideal candidate must have a solid technical foundation in electrical systems, practical understanding of solar / hybrid energy solutions, and proven experience in B2B technical sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Sales
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in roof top solar, hybrid energy system and micro-grid solutions.
- Engage with industrial, commercial and institutional clients to pinch customised energy solutions.
- Prepare and deliver technical + commercial proposals.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Technical understanding
- Understand PV system architecture, hybrid integration, inverter sizing, energy storage, diesel generator interfacing, SCADA / monitoring solutions.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies with technical teams
- Customer Engagement
- Conduct technical presentations, solution discussions, and sales negotiations.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and execution teams for seamless project delivery.
- Market & competitor Analysis.
- Track market developments, tenders, and competitor offerings.
- Suggest value- additions strategies and channel partner development.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain sales pipeline in CRM and prepare weekly / monthly sales reports.
- Support in vendor pre-qualification, proposal submissions, and techno commercial documentation.
Required skills & Experience - 2 to 3 years of experience in solar PV / hybrid systems sales, EPC business development, or energy solutions selling.
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and renewable energy technologies.Proven track record of handling industrial / commercial clients and closing technical sales.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Ability to work independently and jointly with cross-functional teams.Experience in site surveys, load assessment, and ROI-based feasibility analysis is preferred.Knowledge of AutoCAD / PVsyst. and understanding of basic design concepts is an added advantage.Proficiency with MS Office;CRM exposure beneficial.
