We are looking for a highly experienced and hands-on Senior AWS Back-End Engineer to take on the role of Technical Lead for one of our agile squads. This position requires deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and back-end development, with a strong command of AWS services and a modern web application tech stack.
You will lead a squad of 2 to 4 engineers and collaborate closely with six other cross-functional teams as part of a larger enterprise-scale initiative. This is a highly visible and impactful role with the potential to rotate across teams to learn different aspects of the platform.
You will participate in the design, development, and deployment of scalable and robust applications using AWS Cloudfront, S3 buckets, Node.js, TypeScript, React.js, Next.js, Stencil.js, and Aurora Postgres SQL.
Implement microservices that integrate with Databricks as a Data Lake and consume data products.
Key Responsibilities :
Technical Leadership :
- Lead a squad of developers in delivering high-quality, scalable backend solutions
- Provide technical direction, review code, and ensure best practices in architecture, design, and implementation
- Collaborate closely with other technical leads to align on standards, interfaces, and dependencies
Hands-On on Coding and Development :
Design and implement microservices using Nodejs and TypeScriptBuild and maintain RESTful APIsOptimize services hosted on AWS (CloudFront, S3, Aurora PostgreSQL, etc)System Architecture & Operations :
Contribute to system architecture and component design in collaboration with other leads and architectsLeverage Databricks as a data lake backend (no data engineering needed)Ensure secure and reliable authentication / authorization using Auth0Agile Delivery :
Contribute to agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)Occasionally take on the role of Scrum Master to facilitate team deliveryUse Jira and Confluence to track and document workCross-Team Collaboration :
Work with front-end engineers (Reactjs, Nextjs), DevOps, QA, and product managersEnsure consistency and maintainability across services and teamsRequired Qualifications :
10+ years of back-end development experience, including :
8+ years in cloud-native development using AWSStrong proficiency in Nodejs, TypeScript, and REST APIsExperience with AWS CloudFront, S3, Aurora PostgreSQLDemonstrated experience leading small teams or engineering squadsDeep understanding of microservice architecturesFamiliarity with Reactjs, Nextjs, and Auth0 integrationExperience working in agile environments using Jira and ConfluenceStrong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholdersDevelop and maintain REST APIs to support various applications and servicesEnsure secure and efficient access / login mechanisms using Auth0Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new featuresMentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvementConduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standardsTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring high availability and performance of applicationsStay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the teamPreferred Qualifications :
