CTC Range : ₹6 – 9 LPA
Role Overview
The General Manager – Projects (MEP) will be responsible for leading and managing the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and related systems across large-scale projects. This role ensures end-to-end delivery, including design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover, while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, budget, and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will play a key role in project leadership, stakeholder management, and driving continuous improvements in MEP project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide leadership, direction, and vision for the MEP function across multiple projects.
- Define and implement strategies for design management, procurement, execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Build, mentor, and manage multidisciplinary MEP teams to achieve high performance.
Project Planning & Execution
Oversee the complete lifecycle of MEP projects from concept to handover.Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and quality & safety plans.Ensure effective design coordination with architectural, structural, and service teams.Conduct drawing reviews, BOQ finalization, value engineering, and constructability assessments.Technical Oversight
Ensure MEP systems are designed and implemented in compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.Supervise technical disciplines including Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and ELV / IBMS systems.Drive quality assurance and control measures during installation and commissioning phases.Procurement & Contracts
Manage contracts with consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.Oversee procurement processes including specifications, approvals, and material submittals.Monitor vendor performance, ensure cost efficiency, and control resource utilization.Cost & Budget Management
Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets and forecasts.Ensure profitability, timely billing, and collections where applicable.Optimize costs and minimize wastage throughout project execution.Safety, Quality & Compliance
Foster a strong culture of safety and ensure compliance with EHS norms.Ensure adherence to building codes, fire safety standards, and environmental regulations.Stakeholder Management
Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, architects, vendors, and regulatory authorities.Manage expectations, conduct progress reviews, and provide timely project reporting.Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Implement lessons learned to refine project processes.Stay updated with advancements in MEP technologies (BIM, energy-efficient and sustainable systems) and integrate them into projects.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / MEP Engineering (or equivalent).Master’s degree or certifications in HVAC, Fire Protection, Energy Efficiency preferred.10–20+ years of experience in MEP projects, including significant leadership exposure.Proven track record in delivering large-scale projects (commercial, infrastructure, hospitality, or multi-storey developments).Strong knowledge of MEP systems, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, and relevant codes / standards (NFPA, IS, NBC, etc.).
