Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation and comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic pulmonary diseases in ICU and non-ICU settings.
- Manage critically ill patients requiring ventilatory support, advanced respiratory care, and multi-organ monitoring.
- Perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, pleural biopsy, and non-invasive ventilation (NIV).
- Interpret pulmonary function tests, radiological investigations, ABGs, and other diagnostics to guide treatment.
- Lead multidisciplinary rounds in the ICU and coordinate with intensivists, anesthetists, cardiologists, and infectious disease teams.
- Develop and implement ICU protocols and care pathways aligned with evidence-based practices and hospital guidelines.
- Participate in clinical audits, infection control initiatives, and quality improvement programs.
- Guide and mentor junior doctors, residents, and respiratory therapists in critical care practices.
- Ensure proper documentation, patient consent, family counseling, and medical record-keeping.
- Engage in continuous learning and remain updated with advancements in Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine.
Desired Candidate Profile
MBBS with MD / DNB in Pulmonology or Internal Medicine and DM / DNB / Fellowship in Critical Care or Pulmonology.5 to 9 years of hands-on experience managing ICU patients and pulmonary cases in a tertiary care or teaching hospital.Skilled in mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopy, pleural procedures, and critical care ultrasound.Strong clinical acumen with decision-making abilities in high-pressure environments.Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.Skills Required
