Job description

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Applications Specialist to provide end-to-end support, optimization, and management of engineering applications for a large global engineering organization. The role involves collaborating with engineering and IT teams worldwide, ensuring application performance, system stability, and seamless integration into engineering workflows.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Liaise with engineering teams to gather requirements and optimize application performance.
  • Coordinate with global teams to align application standards and usage best practices.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and generate reports on application usage and incidents.
  • Document application configurations, processes, and support procedures.
  • Drive application / system enhancements and manage updates in collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide installation, configuration, and troubleshooting support for engineering applications.

Must-Have Skills & Experience :

  • Proven experience in Engineering Application Support for large engineering organizations.
  • Hands-on expertise with one or more of the following :

    • 1. Altair HyperWorks

    2. ANSYS, LS-Dyna

    3. Mechanical Solvers

    4. Strong knowledge of CAD / CAE systems and models.

  • Experience in HPC design and administration, including job scheduling, solver, and license management.

    • Good-to-Have Skills :

  • Strong understanding of automotive product development and emerging technologies.
  • Knowledge of engineering business processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments with urgency, ownership, and energy.
  • Experience working with multi-cultural users and global IT counterparts.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based or hybrid deployment models for engineering applications.
  • Exposure to DevOps / CI / CD processes for application delivery.
  • Experience with ticketing and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
