We are currently seeking a Senior CodeIgniter Developer with deep expertise in CodeIgniter 4 , database performance optimization , and system integrations to join our dynamic team in Bangalore under a hybrid work model .

Role Overview

We’re looking for a seasoned backend engineer who can design and optimize APIs, queries, and authentication systems in a high-performance environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in PHP (CodeIgniter 4 framework) , PostgreSQL / MySQL , queue mechanisms , and third-party integrations using APIs.

You will collaborate closely with our product, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, optimize, and maintain backend applications using CodeIgniter 4 .
Implement and manage queue mechanisms for asynchronous and scalable systems.
Design and optimize SQL queries for PostgreSQL and MySQL , using query profiling , CTEs (Common Table Expressions) , and query builders .
Analyze and enhance API performance through caching, indexing, and query optimization.
Implement authentication mechanisms including SAML , SSO , and API key-based integrations .
Securely integrate third-party tools or platforms using API keys and secrets.
Apply filters in CodeIgniter 4 for middleware-level functionalities such as authentication and request validation.
Design and maintain stored procedures for performance and data integrity, with a clear understanding of when to use raw SQL vs query builder .
Participate in code reviews , system design , and performance tuning .
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and suggest long-term, scalable solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of hands-on experience in PHP development , with strong focus on CodeIgniter (CI 4) .

Expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL , including indexing, joins, and query optimization.

Proven experience with queue systems (e.G., RabbitMQ, Redis, Beanstalkd, or similar).

Strong understanding of authentication protocols – SAML , OAuth2 , SSO , etc.

Experience with query profiling tools and database performance analysis.

Strong in stored procedures , query builders , and raw SQL — and understanding when to use each.

Hands-on experience with third-party API integrations and secure authentication management .

Strong analytical and logical reasoning abilities, including solving algorithmic or situational problems.

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Good to Have

Knowledge of microservices architecture and API gateway management .

Experience with CI / CD pipelines and Docker-based deployments .

Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and profiling libraries .

You should also understand the use of CTEs, query profiling, filters in CI 4, and performance tuning strategies.
