Leading Database Professional

Job Description :

We are seeking a seasoned database professional to spearhead the performance, availability, and security of our vast database infrastructure across multiple platforms.

This individual will play a pivotal role in designing scalable data architectures, ensuring high uptime and supporting development teams with optimized queries and resilient data pipelines.

Key responsibilities include :

• Maintaining, monitoring, and tuning production and staging databases
• Managing high availability, backups, restores, replication, and disaster recovery strategies
• Ensuring uptime and performance Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met across cloud and hybrid environments
• Administering relational database services, Amazon Aurora, and EC2-hosted database instances
• Monitoring database performance using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and third-party tools
• Collaborating with engineering teams to model new schemas, optimize indexes, and review queries
• Implementing and enforcing best practices in database normalization, partitioning, and data lifecycle management
• Ensuring data encryption, access controls, and audit logging are in place and compliant with company policies
• Supporting General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), SOC 2, and ISO 27001 initiatives with appropriate database controls and evidence collection
• Providing database guidance to developers and DevOps teams during code reviews and deployments
• Sharing knowledge, mentoring junior DBAs, and improving documentation and internal tooling
