Maimsd Technology is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Network Operations Management Center (NOMC) Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial for proactively monitoring, managing, and maintaining our network infrastructure, servers, and applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving network and system issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. You will play a key role in incident management, system administration, and continuous improvement within our NOMC.
Key Responsibilities :
Network Monitoring and Management :
- Proactively monitor network infrastructure, servers, and applications using tools such as Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, or similar monitoring solutions .
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve network and system issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Respond promptly to alerts and escalate incidents as per defined procedures.
- Perform regular network performance analysis and tuning to optimize network efficiency.
Incident and Problem Management :
Serve as a primary point of contact for network and system-related incidents.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to network protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN), routing, switching, and network security .Conduct thorough root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.Maintain detailed records of incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for knowledge management.System Administration and Support :
Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software components.Manage and support network security infrastructure, including firewalls and VPNs .Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.Provide technical support to internal teams and end-users when necessary, ensuring seamless operations.Documentation and Reporting :
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, operational processes, and procedures.Generate regular reports on network performance, system availability, and incident resolution for stakeholders.Continuous Improvement :
Stay updated with the latest networking technologies, security threats, and industry best practices.Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within the NOMC.Participate in the planning and implementation of network upgrades and expansions.Required Skills and Qualifications :
Experience : Proven experience as a NOC Technician, System Engineer, or in a similar role within IT operations (2-5 years).Networking Fundamentals : Solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, and VPNs .Monitoring Tools : Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, or equivalent).Routing & Switching : Proficient knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP ) and switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, STP ).Network Security : Understanding of network security principles and best practices (firewalls, IDS / IPS, access control).Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform effective root cause analysis.Communication : Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.Work Environment : Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24 / 7 operations environment and manage tasks under pressure.Attributes : Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a strong team player.Desired / Preferred Qualifications :
Relevant certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CompTIA Network+, or ITIL Foundation .Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash ) for automation.Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) .Knowledge of ITIL framework and practices .Education :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field; OREquivalent work experience in a relevant role.Skills Required
