Job Description

• Responsible for the support of testing activities of Microsoft Fabric Release 1 project
• Work with business analysts, developers, domain experts, PMs, Admin and DBAs to understand and interpret requirements
• Translate the Business Requirements, Source to Target Mappings into robust technical solutions using Microsoft Fabric
• Responsible to develop test scripts to validate data across different layers ( Fabric Bronze, Silver, Gold Layer tables / Power BI Canned Reports / Power BI Reports embedded into Websites)
• Develop Data Pipelines, Dataflows for QA data validations (Ingest files into Fabric, Robust Data Comparison workflows to match data in Staging and Target layer in Synapse Data Warehouse)
• Develop T-SQL scripts in SQL Analytics endpoint, by creating tables, Views, Store procedures for test validations (Data Validations, Transformation Checks, Data Completeness, Data Quality, Precision, Uniqueness, Timeliness)
• Leverage and implement shortcuts feature in fabric across workspaces to validate the data between different sources / workspaces.
• Develop packages to import Power BI Report data in Excels to Fabric tables
• Develop T-SQL Scripts & Data pipelines to perform Power BI report data testing ( Data Validations – Record Counts, Column Values, Sub Totals, Grand Totals, Calculated measures, aggregated measures)
• Responsible to test Power BI canned reports (Data Validation, Visualization Accuracy, Functionality Testing, Performance Testing, Security Testing, Incremental data refresh testing, User Interface & Usability testing, User Acceptance Testing)
• Develop Test Artifacts ( Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Test Cases ) for Fabric Synapse data warehouse, Power BI Reports, Power BI Reports Integration into client different websites.
• Responsible for test execution and status reporting by raising and maintaining defects in JIRA tool by collecting the evidence and attaching them in JIRA and to update the details of the defects whenever a new build is released
• Update ALM (HP-Application Life-cycle Management Tool) post-test execution with all the required documents and failing or passing the test case by testing and providing enough evidence
• Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, regression testing, negative testing, error, or bug retests
• Responsible to get up to speed with latest Fabric Product releases. Provide training and knowledge transfer to Internal teams to ensure smooth project execution, maintenance, and enhancement capabilities.
