Location : Sydney
Salary Range : $125,000 – $150,000 + superannuation
Employment Type : Full-time (Hybrid : 2 days per week in the office)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join the team as a mid-to-senior level, hands-on contributor. This role is central to delivering accurate reporting, actionable business insights, and high-quality dashboards across critical areas such as student outcomes, franchisee performance, financial health, and marketing effectiveness.
Operating with high autonomy and visibility across the business, you will execute the company’s data strategy within the CIO’s broader IT governance framework. While this role has no direct people management responsibilities, you will be a trusted specialist who enables data-driven decision-making across multiple business units.
Reports to : Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Accountable for : Data reporting outputs, data integrity, and actionable insights
Nature : High-autonomy, specialist role with significant cross-business visibility
Key Stakeholder Interfaces
Regional CEOs & Business Leadership – Deliver operational performance visibility through dashboards and reporting
Curriculum Team – Enable measurement of learning outcomes and student performance
Marketing – Provide campaign reporting and attribution models
Product Manager – Support product KPIs and AI readiness with clean, structured data
IT Delivery – Align data flows with operational architecture
Franchisees – Provide standardized performance reporting and self-service dashboards
Core Responsibilities
Data Strategy Execution – Deliver trusted reporting, aligned with defined KPI frameworks
Reporting Infrastructure – Build and maintain enterprise dashboards in Power BI (Tableau desirable)
Data Quality Management – Implement validation frameworks and resolve integrity issues
Business Insight Delivery – Develop actionable insights and support ad-hoc reporting needs
Performance Tracking – Deliver board-level dashboards covering student, franchisee, and commercial KPIs
AI Enablement Support – Prepare datasets for predictive models and product analytics
Data Literacy – Train business users in self-service dashboards and data interpretation
Technical Scope
Dashboards : Power BI (primary); Tableau experience desirable
Data Sources : CRM, LMS, finance systems, marketing platforms, operational tools
ETL / ELT : Oversight of vendor processes; basic support as required
Data Governance : Ensure data accuracy, audit trails, and compliance with privacy standards
AI / Data Science : Focus on data readiness and predictive analytics support (no active model building required)
No direct reports, highly autonomous specialist role
Approx. 70% hands-on reporting / dashboard build, 20% stakeholder collaboration, 10% strategic input
Agile reporting delivery model, emphasizing high business impact and rapid iterations
Required Experience & Skills
7–10 years of direct data analytics and reporting experience
Advanced expertise in Power BI and SQL , with strong data modelling capabilities
Strong commercial understanding of franchise operations
Experience managing diverse stakeholder needs in complex environments
Proven ability to deliver executive-ready insights independently
Working knowledge of data governance, privacy compliance, and AI readiness
