Job Title : Linux System Administrator

Experience : 4 to 6 Years

Location : Hyderabad & Bangalore

Shifts : Rotational

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Linux Server Administrator with 4–6 years of experience in server management and administration. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in managing Linux-based environments, including server lifecycle operations, hypervisor platforms, automation tools, and basic cloud integration. This role demands deep troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced infrastructure support environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver Level 3 technical support for Linux server environments, ensuring compliance with customer SLAs.
  • Perform daily compute operations including incident management, service requests, change requests, and root cause analysis, aligned with ITIL processes.
  • Manage the full server lifecycle : installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and decommissioning (physical and virtual servers).
  • Conduct performance testing, system tuning, and troubleshooting for server-related issues, especially during outages or degradation.
  • Administer storage operations using NetApp NFS.
  • Handle OS image maintenance , patch management (e.g., via BladeLogic Automation), and repository / package management .
  • Configure and roll out server monitoring and alerts .
  • Document infrastructure services, solutions, and procedures; perform quality assurance and knowledge transfer to Level 2 support teams.
  • Participate in on-call rotations , including weekends or holidays as needed by project requirements.

Required Skills & Experience :

  • Strong experience with Linux OS operations and server administration (physical and virtual).
  • Proficient in hypervisor technologies , especially XEN and VMware .
  • In-depth knowledge of LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables .
  • Experience with server monitoring tools , performance tuning, and root cause analysis.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (associate-level understanding of AWS , Azure , or GCP ).
  • Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Chef ) and scripting languages (e.g., Bash , Perl ).
  • Basic experience with GitHub and Jira .
