Job Summary :
We are seeking a Head of Academic and Regulations to lead all regulatory, accreditation, and compliance initiatives across our academic offerings. This role is ideal for someone with 5–8 years of deep expertise in educational regulations (AICTE, UGC, NAAC, etc.) , who can own and drive end-to-end academic governance — from policy alignment and university approvals to credit negotiations and strategic regulatory planning.
As the senior authority on academic compliance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping NxtWave's academic credibility, building institutional partnerships, and ensuring our curriculum meets all standards required for long-term scalability and success.
Roles & Responsibilities :
1. Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all programs and curricula align with national and regional regulatory frameworks (AICTE, UGC, NAAC, AIU, NCVET).Align NxtWave programs with Swayam Plus, NCVET (NASSCOM, NSQF, NHEQF, QPs, NOS, NSDC Certifications), FSP, NEAT, B.Voc requirements to enable skill-based and credit-based recognition.Map curriculum to NSQF levels, qualification packs, credit frameworks, and national standards for official validity.Establish compliance checklists, internal audits, and monitoring processes to ensure zero non-compliance across academic operations.2. Academic Approvals & Governance
Lead the full lifecycle of academic approvals from universities : HOD, Dean, Board of Studies (BOS), Academic Council, and Senate.Secure BOS approvals by aligning course structure, credits, and learning outcomes with university policies.Facilitate curriculum negotiation and alignment to reach a common ground between NxtWave and university frameworks.Build and manage a governance calendar and workflows to ensure timely submissions, proactive follow-up, and zero delays.3. Compliance Reporting & Documentation
Prepare and present detailed reports on regulatory status, curriculum adoption, credit recognition, and compliance performance.Maintain a centralized digital repository of all approvals, legal documents, negotiations, and correspondences for audit readiness.Develop standard templates and reporting formats to ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and traceability.4. Credit & Course Recognition
Lead negotiations with universities to secure credit recognition and credit transfer pathways for NxtWave programs.Integrate NxtWave courses into degree, diploma, elective, and skill-based programs within partner universities.Align academic structures (modules, contact hours, grading, assessments) to meet credit eligibility.Track credit-linked program performance and expand recognition across additional institutions.5. Accreditation & Partnership Expansion
Drive accreditation processes for new programs with bodies such as NAAC, AICTE, NCVET, and industry certification authorities.Identify, onboard, and manage strategic partnerships with universities, government bodies, and accreditation agencies.Develop scalable partnership models including co-branded, credit-linked, and integrated degree programs.Strengthen NxtWave's credibility by maintaining high accreditation outcomes and compliant partnerships.6. Strategic Regulatory Leadership
Serve as the internal expert on academic regulations, accreditation trends, and government policy developments.Provide regulatory risk assessments and mitigation strategies to support high-impact strategic decisions.Design long-term regulatory strategies to enable new product launches, geographic expansion, and university tie-ups.Represent NxtWave in policy forums, government discussions, and regulatory consultations.7. Process Excellence & Quality Assurance
Design and implement scalable SOPs and workflows to standardize all regulatory and approval operations.Continuously evaluate and improve processes to reduce turnaround time and eliminate compliance bottlenecks.Implement quality reviews and control mechanisms to maintain documentation accuracy and regulatory adherence.Introduce tools or automation to enhance tracking, version control, and process visibility.8. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead and mentor a cross-functional team managing compliance, documentation, and university coordination.Act as the central liaison with internal stakeholders (academic, product, content, legal, operations) to ensure alignment.Build and maintain strong relationships with universities, government agencies, accreditation authorities, and industry bodies.Provide training and guidance to internal teams on regulatory processes, governance protocols, and best practices.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Law, Business Administration, Public Policy , Computer Science or a related field.5-8 years of experience in regulatory affairs, accreditation, or academic compliance within the EdTech or higher education sector .Strong working knowledge of AICTE, UGC, NAAC, and related regulatory frameworks , including approval, accreditation, and credit processes.Demonstrated success in curriculum approvals, credit negotiations, and managing accreditation cycles end-to-end.Excellent documentation, communication, and negotiation skills with experience preparing regulatory submissions and agreements.Proven ability to manage external relationships with universities, government bodies, and accreditation agencies.Strategic thinker with strong stakeholder management and leadership skills to influence academic and regulatory decision-makers.Know more about NxtWave : https : / / www.ccbp.in
