Overview of the Branch and Section :
This position sits in the National Emergency Management Agency’s Media, Communication and Engagement Branch. The Branch provides expert public communication, stakeholder engagement and media advice to promote ministerial and departmental priorities, policies and programs. The Branch delivers all media management and external engagement functions including but not limited to, media support for Ministers and the Executive, social media, graphic design, video production, speechwriting, internal communication, external and strategic communication campaigns.
About the role :
As Senior Digital Content Advisor you will respond to content requests from across the Agency and collaborate with stakeholders to develop accessible, inclusive and engaging content for our digital channels. The role will also maintain existing content, ensuring it is current and accurate by managing content governance processes.
You will work to the Assistant Director of the Digital Channels and Production team, and closely with the Program Communications, Employee Communications and Media and Crisis Communication teams. You will establish strong connections across the Agency and with key external stakeholders. As such, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, which will allow you to engage effectively with stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels of seniority. You will be apart of a creative team that manages the agencies social media presence, website, and content production. You will also work closely with the specialists in these areas to engage, inform and educate audiences through content.
At times staff within NEMA may be required to work outside of standard business hours, particularly during the higher risk weather season.
