Can you turn technical knowledge into strategic sales succes in the defence market DESMI is searching for a Sales Manager in Defence.

We have been experiencing growth and are looking for an ambitious, people oriented and technically minded individual to bring support to the next level. This position requires travel generating new business prospects, commercial negotiations, delivering presentations and managing customer relationships with our clients. Our new Sales Manager must plan, generate enquiries, submit quotations on time, attend techno commercial meetings, close the orders and collect payment. This job is suited for professionals with Industrial experience, and a passion for sales and customer service who enjoy closing businesses for solution orientated packages.

Your Key Responsibilities

Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales by combining technical knowledge with sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of products or services. This role involves understanding customer requirements, presenting suitable solutions, ensuring successful deal closures and also includes leading a team and developing strategic plans to expand market presence. Identify and develop new business opportunities with prospective clients
Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations.
Understand client requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
Prepare commercial offers and quotations. Working on tenders and knowledge of handling GeM portal is essential.
Negotiate contracts and close deals.
Work closely with the engineering and product development teams to ensure client needs are met.
Provide post-sales technical support when necessary.
Develop Long-Term Customer Relationships
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales engineers or representatives.
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve organizational revenue goals.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities.
Forecast sales performance and prepare periodic reports for senior management.
Build and maintain relationships with key accounts and partners.
Coordinate with marketing to develop campaign materials.
Prospect for new clients and business opportunities in the following markets :
Indian Navy / Coast guard
Marine Consultants
Shipyards
OEM's – HAVC / compressor / Gearbox / Engines etc
Marine Dealers or Distributors

What We Expect From You

Technical proficiency and prior pump sales experience are a must, as well as the following skills :

Educational Background : Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Electrical with deep knowledge of pumps

Proven track record in technical sales or sales management – 5-7 years' selling experience in dealing with Indian Navy / coast guard, Shipyards Marine Consultants & Contractors.

Sales skills – Demonstrate professional selling skills including prospecting, quote generation, closing and solution-oriented sales.

Problem-solving skills – Ability to identify customer's 'pain points', specify, communicate, and offer solutions to customers.

Technical / Technology experience – Apply the knowledge and technical expertise in the industry market to advise and assist clients with winning solutions. Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365 , SAP).

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Confidence – Confident to motivate the clients to make purchases and to upsell solutions.

Strong technical acumen and ability to grasp complex concepts.

Ability to work independently and in a team.
