Job description

Job Overview

We are looking for skilled Power BI and Advanced Excel Developers with strong analytical, visualization, and data modeling skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building dashboards, creating data visualizations, automating reports, and handling complex database queries. Experience with SQL and backend integration (preferably Django) is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports and data visualizations to support business programs and operations.
  • Write and optimize complex DAX formulas and SQL queries for data modeling and analysis.
  • Connect and integrate data from multiple sources APIs, databases, and external sources into Power BI.
  • Implement row-level security (RLS) , data refresh schedules , and performance tuning for efficient reporting.
  • Stay Current with Power BI features, SQL optimization techniques and industry’s best Practices.

Advanced Excel Development

  • Build advanced Excel-based tools, models, and automation tools to streamline business processes.
  • Strong proficiency in lookup functions (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, etc.) , pivot tables , and conditional formulas .
  • Ability to interpret and implement Trucking Rater Guides or similar rating / risk models within Excel.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using macros and VBA (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Work on cross-sheet data consolidation, validation, and data visualization in Excel.

    • SQL / Backend Development

  • Design and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures for data extraction and transformation.
  • Need to ensure data integrity and efficiency .
  • Familiarity with the Django framework or other backend platforms is a plus.
  • Understand database relationships, indexing, and normalization for report performance optimization.

    • Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development, Advanced Excel development and SQL .
  • Proficiency in data modeling , DAX , Power Query (M language) , Advanced Excel functions and formulas.
  • Strong understanding of SQL (PostgreSQL) .
  • Good understanding of data structures , ETL processes , and database design .
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines.
