Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Lead Database Administrator with 7+ years of hands-on experience in managing relational and NoSQL databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cloud SQL, Spanner and BigQuery, with additional expertise in ISV (Independent Software Vendor) databases such as MongoDB Atlas, ScyllaDB and Redis. This role also requires solid experience with NoSQL technologies, backup strategies, performance tuning, and cloud-native tools.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage, monitor, and optimize Cloud-native databases including Cloud SQL, Spanner and BigQuery. Administer and support ISV databases like MongoDB Atlas, ScyllaDB, Redis Enterprise, and other cloud hosted DBs.
• Design and implement high availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Configure and manage replication, monitoring, and alerting for both SQL and NoSQL environments.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and index analysis.
• Collaborate with application teams to support data model design and database architecture.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using Terraform, Cloud Functions, or scripting (Python, Bash).
• Manage security, IAM roles, and compliance policies related to databases.
• Participate in on-call rotation for production support and incident management.
• Support migration and modernization of legacy workloads to cloud-native and open-source databases.
• Work closely with GCP services such as Dataflow, Pub / Sub, and Cloud Monitoring for data pipeline and CDC Skills & Experience :
• 7+ years of experience as a DBA with any cloud environment.
• Strong experience in managing Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL / MySQL), Spanner and BigQuery.
• Hands-on expertise with NoSQL and ISV DBs such as MongoDB Atlas, Redis, ScyllaDB, Cassandra, or similar.
• Solid understanding of Cloud services, IAM policies, VPCs, and security best practices.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred).
• Proven track record in capacity planning, incident response, and data lifecycle management.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and availability issues.
• Knowledge of change data capture (CDC), Dataflow, and streaming data architectures.
