Engineer – Yield Management System [07 / 10 / 2025]

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities :

1. Partner with Digital / IT team for design and development of the Yield Management software and Database

2. Design and create a Data Integration framework that collects data from different sources. (E-test, Defect Inspection, Inline Metrology, Sort)

3. Yield Analysis Tools : Develop algorithms for data analysis to enable root cause understanding and yield optimization

4. Partner with PI / YE, CFM teams and vendors to enable continuous system improvements

5. Automation & Reporting : Generate Automated yield reports.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with Product Engineering and Process Integration teams to get requirements to build the software to support yield management.

7. System Maintenance & Scalability : Reliability and scalability of the software for high volume data.

8. Present updates to internal and customer senior executives.

9. Travel as required.

Qualifications :

1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent; Advanced degree preferred

2. Experience in data analysis, failure / defect analysis and yield improvement

3. Strong understanding of device physics, process integration, yield improvement, failure mechanisms

4. Can write basic code (eg. Python, C++)

5. Familiarity with statistical techniques and data visualization techniques

6. Familiarity with operations dashboards

7. Familiarity with process modules and metrology / defect inspection tools

8. Familiarity with AI / ML basics

9. Innovation mindset

Desired Experience Level :

1. 5+ years’ experience in the semiconductor industry with specific experience in E-test / Wafer Sort

2. Proven structured problem-solving skills using 8D and other methods

3. Has programmed and managed E-test systems
