Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Automation Testing Engineer with strong expertise in Selenium, Python, and API testing . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks, leading test automation initiatives, and mentoring team members. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, technical leadership, and a passion for delivering high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust automation frameworks using Selenium with Python .
  • Drive API automation testing strategies using Python and tools like Postman / RestAssured / Requests library .
  • Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product teams to define and implement effective test strategies.
  • Ensure automation coverage across functional, regression, and integration testing.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of defects and ensure quick turnaround on fixes.
  • Mentor and guide junior automation engineers within the team.
  • Ensure adherence to QA best practices, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership in test automation and contribute to overall QA roadmap.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7–9 years of experience in Automation Testing , with at least 3+ years in a lead / mentorship role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and Python .
  • Expertise in API test automation (REST / SOAP APIs) using Python libraries or tools.
  • Solid understanding of automation frameworks (Hybrid, Data-driven, Page Object Model, BDD / TDD).
  • Experience with CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, etc.).
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

  • Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust).
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker / Kubernetes .
