To strengthen our position as a design thought leader, we are seeking a
Workspace Design Research Assistant , a passionate professional who can bridge
research and practice , enabling Zyeta to stay at the forefront of workspace innovation.
Role Overview
The
Workspace Design Research Assistant
will be responsible for driving deep research into
workspace design, typologies, industry trends, generational and neurodiverse needs, and future strategies . This role goes beyond academic study, translating insights into
actionable frameworks, space planning strategies, functionality driven furniture setups, and design excellence standards
that influence Zyeta’s day-to-day studio practices.
The individual will also work on
publishing thought leadership papers, presenting them at international forums, and shaping Zyeta’s global positioning
as a pioneer in workspace innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Knowledge Building
Conduct in-depth research on
workspace typologies
across industries (tech, healthcare, BFSI, consulting, creative, product, F&B, etc.).
Map
generational differences in workspace use
(Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, Boomers) : needs, behaviors, cultural cues, and spatial expectations.
Research
neurodiverse approaches
to workspace planning, sensory-sensitive design, adaptable zones, wellness and accessibility standards.
Identify and extract insights from published research, white papers, journals, and case studies worldwide.
Analyze
emerging patterns in workplace behaviors, technologies, and cultural shifts
that impact space design.
Studio Integration & Design Excellence
Translate research insights into
day-to-day design practices
for Zyeta’s studio teams.
Develop
planning principles
that address generational needs, neurodiverse inclusion, and hybrid work.
Create design strategy playbooks, zoning frameworks, space-planning archetypes, and functional
furniture typologies .
Collaborate with the
Design Excellence Cell
to refine look & feel directions, material applications, and planning standards.
Partner with designers to embed
evidence based design thinking
into live projects.
Thought Leadership & Global Influence
Co-author and publish
research papers, articles, and whitepapers
for Zyeta on workspace design and the future of work.
Prepare presentations and submissions for
international forums, conferences, and competitions .
Build Zyeta’s reputation as a
global thought leader
by ensuring consistent presence in academic, industry, and innovation platforms.
Strategic Foresight
Anticipate
future trends in workspace design
hybrid work, generational transitions, AI & tech integration, ESG, WELL & LEED standards.
Develop
research-driven strategies
to position Zyeta as an innovator in inclusive, generationally relevant, and neurodiverse design.
Collaborate with leadership to shape
long-term workspace visioning frameworks
for clients.
Sustainability, Well-being & Inclusive Design Research
Research and document
sustainable workspace practices , including low-carbon materials, energy-efficient systems, and circular design strategies.
Explore and integrate
well-being frameworks
such as WELL, Fitwel, and other global health & safety standards into Zyeta’s design research.
Investigate
inclusive design approaches , addressing neurodiverse needs, gender-sensitive spaces, accessibility, and generational requirements.
Develop
evidence-based guidelines
that embed sustainability, wellness, and inclusivity into Zyeta’s design excellence frameworks and studio practices.
Contribute to
thought leadership papers and presentations
highlighting Zyeta’s role in advancing sustainable, healthy, and inclusive work environments.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
Bachelor’s / master’s in architecture, Interior Design, Environmental Design, or related field.
Additional certification in Workplace Strategy, Design Thinking, or Inclusive Design is a plus.
Experience
5–8 years of experience in research, workplace consulting, or design strategy.
Exposure to publishing, academic writing, or presenting research at forums is preferred.
Skills
Strong research, analytical, and synthesis skills.
Ability to
translate research into practical design strategies .
Understanding of
generational workstyles, neurodiverse design approaches, and inclusive planning principles .
Excellent writing, communication, and presentation abilities.
Familiarity with
workspace trends, WELL / LEED frameworks, ESG, and industry benchmarks .
Proficiency in tools for data analysis, visualization, and design (Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite, Revit / preferred).
Self-starter, proactive planner and executor, go getter (who does not need constant supervision and babysitting)
