Job description

Responsibilities

  • Act as Project Leader for multidisciplinary projects, ensuring technical and financial performance in collaboration with Project Directors.
  • Champion high-quality, resilient electrical engineering designs, including High Voltage and Extra Low Voltage systems .
  • Mentor and delegate effectively to junior engineers, fostering continuous professional development.
  • Lead technical / quality reviews of specifications, reports, and drawings to maintain excellence and compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) .
  • Prepare project delivery programmes and resource schedules, balancing requirements with team availability.
  • Support departmental performance analysis across technical, financial, commercial, and people aspects.
  • Organize project workshops and reviews, leveraging the wider expertise of Buro Happold.
  • Promote integrated services to potential clients and represent the company at interviews and presentations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, maximizing opportunities for repeat business.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to the highest technical standards, within budget, and financially successful.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical engineering and building services, with proven delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in High Voltage systems, resilient systems, and specialist Extra Low Voltage systems (secure environments).
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering with broad understanding of other building services and related design disciplines.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing large, multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent client-facing skills, with ability to lead presentations and manage complex stakeholder groups.
  • Strong commercial awareness, ensuring projects achieve financial success.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, listening).
