Role Overview As a Junior Rust Backend Developer at Alkye, you will work closely with senior engineers to design, implement, and maintain backend services in Rust. You will gain practical experience in backend systems, microservices, APIs, and cloud infrastructure while contributing to our digital product ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Rust .- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code under mentorship.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, design, product).- Work with databases (SQL / NoSQL) for secure and scalable data handling.- Debug, test, and optimize backend services for performance and reliability.- Learn and apply best practices in software architecture, security, and CI / CD.- Stay updated with the Rust ecosystem and backend development trends. Required Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of Rust programming language (through projects, internships, or academics).- Understanding of backend concepts : REST APIs, authentication, microservices.- Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases.- Basic knowledge of Git and version control workflows.- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Preferred Skills (Good to Have) Exposure to Actix, Rocket, or Axum frameworks .- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) .- Understanding of event-driven architecture / message queues .- Experience with testing and debugging in Rust.- Contributions to open-source or personal Rust projects.
