Key Responsibilities :
- ???? Project Planning & Strategy :
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of smart metering projects including hardware (smart meters, DCUs), software (HES, MDMS), and communications (RF, NB-IoT, 4G).
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets in line with contractual obligations and SLAs.
- Develop a comprehensive project execution plan, risk mitigation strategy, and deployment roadmap.
- ???? Execution & Implementation :
- Oversee all phases from survey, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of smart meters and supporting infrastructure.
- Ensure smooth integration of the AMI solution with utility back-end systems (e.g., billing, SCADA, CRM).
- Monitor and control field operations including logistics, installation teams, subcontractors, and OEM coordination.
- ???? Stakeholder Management :
- Serve as the primary point of contact for utility clients, government agencies, DISCOMs, system integrators, and internal leadership.
- Facilitate regular reviews, client meetings, and governance structures for project transparency and accountability.
- Coordinate with regulatory and statutory bodies for compliance, approvals, and progress reporting.
- ???? Team & Vendor Management :
- Lead and manage cross-functional project teams including engineering, procurement, IT / OT, QA / QC, and field deployment.
- Manage contracts, SLAs, and performance of subcontractors, OEMs, and service vendors.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards (QHSE compliance).
- ???? Monitoring, Reporting & Escalation :
- Track KPIs and project health metrics : delivery milestones, meter deployment rates, system uptime, and SLA adherence.
- Generate weekly / monthly progress reports for internal and client-side review.
- Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, and propose corrective actions.
Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor's in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or similar); PMP / Prince2 certification preferred.15+ years of experience in large infrastructure or utility project management; minimum 5 years in smart metering / AMI projects .Strong experience managing multi-vendor, multi-location rollouts at a scale of 1M+ meters is preferred.Proven leadership in delivering turnkey EPC, ICT, or utility automation projects.Technical & Functional Skills :
In-depth understanding of smart metering ecosystem : AMI, HES, MDMS, communication technologies (RF Mesh, PLC, GPRS / NB-IoT).Familiarity with regulatory standards (CEA, MoP guidelines), government tendering, and DISCOM operations.Budgeting, cost control, risk management, and contract administration expertise.Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.Skills Required
