Role Overview :
The Category Head will lead the Education category and drive business growth through strategic space selling, client acquisition, and innovative advertising solutions.
This role requires a proven leader with strong market knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and mentor a sales team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, mentor, and manage the category sales team to achieve revenue targets.
- Drive strategic space selling within the Education category, ensuring revenue maximization.
- Identify new business opportunities and unexplored market segments.
- Develop and execute innovative advertising solutions tailored for major accounts.
- Build and nurture long-term client relationships to ensure consistent growth.
- Expand market share by acquiring new clients and unlocking fresh revenue streams.
- Ensure effective on-ground engagement, as this is a field-intensive role.
Qualifications & Skills :
Bachelor's degree in any discipline.MBA preferred.
10+ years of proven sales experience, preferably in print media, advertising, or related sectors.Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve ambitious revenue targets.Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Candidates from print media industry will be preferred.Candidates with experience in the education / academic sales segment may also be considered(ref : iimjobs.com)
