About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manager / Senior Manager for the Employment Law and Legal Compliance vertical across key jurisdictions, with a strong focus on India, EU and the United States.

This role will drive strategy creation and implementation from a legal and regulatory compliance perspective, support employment categorization related exercise in accordance with local laws, provide advisory both from an employment law as well as regulatory compliance perspective, implement / monitor / fulfil the local law regulatory compliances in a timely manner through internal as well as external stakeholders, data privacy related exposure will be an added advantage. We are looking for someone who will have deep technical expertise, leadership experience, and a commercial mindset to balance compliance with business enablement.

What will you do?

Employment Law & HR Compliance

  • Advise on employment law matters including hiring, onboarding, employee relations, terminations, and workplace policies.
  • Draft, review, and update employment contracts, handbooks, and internal policies in line with evolving legislation.
  • Partner with HR to design compliant and practical procedures for performance management, diversity & inclusion, whistleblowing, and grievances.
  • Manage responses to employee complaints, investigations, and coordinate with external counsel where necessary.
  • Oversee and advise on the classification parameters used to distinguish between employees’ v / s contractors that are applicable in the geographies that the Company operates in to ensure that there is no misclassification risk for the Company.
  • Able to manage cross-jurisdictional litigation in an effective manner and provide updates to the management and the board as requested.

Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Monitor and interpret relevant regulatory developments on a regular basis which are relevant to the Company business (e.g., SEBI, RBI, data privacy, labour laws), ensuring internal policies remain compliant.
  • Assist in regulatory filings, audits, and periodic reporting obligations.
  • Maintain and update compliance registers, licenses, and internal trackers for regulatory submissions.
  • Support internal and external audits and remediate any findings in collaboration with operational teams.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and procure relevant advisory from external advisors including law firms on various aspects affecting the company business.
  • Cross-Functional Advisory

  • Work closely with business, HR, product, and finance teams to integrate compliance considerations into day-to-day operations.
  • Train employees on key compliance topics such as anti-harassment, data protection, conflict of interest, and whistle blower policies.
  • Support internal investigations related to regulatory or employment issues.
  • Proven track record of advising and implementing / assisting in implementation of Data Privacy Framework in consultation with the Information Security Team
  • What we are looking for

  • Law Graduate with minimum PQE of 7 to 10 years.
  • Exposure working in a multi-jurisdictional organization across time zones. Prior experience in the media and entertainment industry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Expertise in preparing written statements and responses to claims, conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies, and stay abreast of recent case laws and legal precedents in labour and employment law.
  • Good exposure in handling Indian labour laws especially working knowledge of compliances surrounding PF, ESIC, CLRA, and Minimum Wages, etc.
  • Good research, drafting and communication skills.
