Overview
We are looking for an Automation & Controls Engineer to work on industrial automation and robotics systems involving PLC logic development, controls hardware integration, motion control, and system commissioning. This role involves working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure stable, efficient, and safe automation operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs using Ladder Logic or Structured Text.
- Configure and maintain HMI applications, screens, alarms, and diagnostic interfaces.
- Integrate and calibrate sensors, actuators, barcode scanners, safety devices, VFDs, and servo systems.
- Work with controls hardware, including PLC, I / O modules, wiring panels, industrial field devices, and safety circuits.
- Perform field commissioning, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of automated systems (robots, conveyors, machinery, AMRs / AGVs, etc.).
- Configure and maintain industrial communication networks (EtherCAT, CAN, Profinet, Modbus TCP, Ethernet / IP, RS-485, RS-232).
- Conduct preventive maintenance, root cause analysis (RCA), corrective actions (CAPA) and system performance improvement.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, program change logs, backups, and SOPs.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to achieve seamless system integration.
Requirements
Required Skills
2+ years of experience in Industrial Automation, Controls Engineering, or Robotics.Hands-on experience in PLC programming (Omron / Siemens / Schneider / Codesys or similar platforms).Strong understanding of control systems hardware, component selection, wiring, and industrial I / O components.Experience working with sensors, actuators, VFDs, servo drives, safety interlocks.Ability to design electrical schematics and panel drawings.Practical experience in system commissioning, debugging, and on-site troubleshooting.Preferred / Good to Have
Hands-on exposure to Electrical schematics and harness design with Eplan Electric P8.Experience or willingness to work with Omron Sysmac Studio (PLC / Motion / HMI) and equivalent PLCs.Hands-on exposure to AMR / AGV or warehouse automation systems.Experience with vision systems / barcode scanners (Cognex, Sick, Banner, Keyence).Familiarity with Linux OS and C / C++ programming.Familiarity with Git / GitLab / Azure DevOps for version control.Understanding of Industry 4.0 / IIoT concepts is a plus.Education
Diploma or B.E. / B.Tech or M.E. / M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent)
