Job Summary :

  • PSS / BoP lead shall be over all responsible for O&M operations of the substations, transmission line and other accessories.
  • The role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and grid integration specific to renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind, hybrid and energy storage.
  • This leader will ensure the delivery of innovative operational works, while leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians and other staff to ensure the operational works meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage all electrical operations and maintenance activities at Pooling Substations (PSS), allied transmission equipment, bays etc.
  • Supervise and mentor engineers and technicians working at PSS operations.
  • Coordinate inspection, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and control systems at PSS.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety, statutory, and regulatory standards during all PSS activities.
  • Oversee material procurement, tracking of Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and invoice processing related to PSS.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, STUs, and internal teams to ensure smooth commissioning and operational continuity.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies and best practices for reliable operation of pooling substations.
  • Monitor equipment performance, analyze faults, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports, project updates, and compliance documentation to senior management.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to meet project objectives.
  • Experience with Substation Automation Systems (SAS) and SCADA integration.
  • Familiarity with Electrical Maintenance Management Systems (EMMS) and ERP tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to renewable energy power evacuation projects is a plus.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in electrical operations, maintenance, and commissioning of Pooling (PSS) / EHV substations up to a minimum of 132 kv. Persons with 220 kV and above preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in power transmission or substation projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and substation automation
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes including PR, PO, and invoice management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and statutory compliance in power sector.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.

  • The work location is at the project site near Tuljapur, MH
