Senior Cell Electrochemical and Aging Modelling

Role & responsibilities

Develop physics-based and / or electrochemical aging model of lithium ion cells to predict capacity

degradation and resistance increase. Calibrate the model by design of experiments and validate the aging

model by lab tests and / or field data. Apply aging model to predict battery lifetime and warranty for different

operating conditions.

• Develop physics-based model for swelling and investigate the impacts of swelling on cell performance

including aging.

dependence on various cell designs and manufacturing variables such as coating thickness, material

composition, coating microstructure. Apply the models to optimize cell design and manufacturing process.

Preferred candidate profile

PhD in electrochemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, and equivalent

software tools.
