Position Overview
We are seeking a Lead Civil Engineer – Land Development / Grading Design with strong technical, design management, and leadership skills to lead large-scale grading and land development projects . The role involves managing a design team, ensuring quality delivery, maintaining compliance with international standards, and coordinating with global offices (especially Canada and the USA).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage grading design packages for projects ranging from small to large scale.
- Guide and mentor a team of engineers (Graduate to Senior level) to ensure high-quality project delivery.
- Oversee concept to detailed design phases for land development and external infrastructure projects.
- Ensure adherence to technical standards, project budgets, timelines, and quality objectives .
- Monitor and report on team utilization, KPI achievement, and project financials .
- Coordinate closely with overseas (Canada / US) teams for workload planning and project consistency.
- Conduct design reviews, QA / QC checks, and ensure audit and policy compliance .
- Supervise preparation of engineering reports, grading plans, hydrology / hydraulic modeling, and design calculations .
- Serve as a technical trouble-shooter , providing guidance on land development, grading, roads, hydrology, hydraulics, and modeling.
- Ensure client satisfaction while meeting WSP’s standards in Health & Safety, quality, financial, and risk management .
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.12–15 years of experience in land development, external infrastructure, and grading design.Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D (mandatory).Experience with hydrology / hydraulic modeling tools such as HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, InfoWorks ICM, or SewerGEMS (preferred).Proven experience managing international design projects and multidisciplinary teams.Strong leadership, project management, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work in a hybrid and collaborative global environment .Why Join WSP
