About the Role
SolarWinds is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server environments, both on-premises and in Azure. This role is crucial in ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our databases while supporting our Engineering and Business Intelligence teams.

What You Will Do
Database Administration and Performance Optimization
- Monitor and optimize SQL Server instances for performance, availability, and security
- Troubleshoot performance issues and provide recommendations for improvement
- Identify and implement optimizations to enhance database efficiency
Maintenance and Security
Apply OS updates and SQL Server Cumulative Updates to Always-On Availability Group VMsPerform backups, restores, and consistency checks to ensure data integrity and availabilityManage database access, including roles, logins, and user permissionsDeployment and Automation
Deploy scripts to staging and production environments following best practicesManage data synchronization between cloud and on-prem environments using T-SQL scripts, SSIS, and import / export toolsTest and refine backup and recovery procedures to minimize downtime in case of failuresTechnical Support and Collaboration
Serve as a point of contact for database-related service requestsWork closely with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve database issuesContinuously develop technical skills and contribute to improving support processesWhat We Are Looking For
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fieldThree or more years of experience in MS SQL Server database administration and T-SQL programmingAt least one year of experience working with MS SQL Server in AzureExperience with SSIS is a plusTechnical and Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex database issuesExcellent communication skills to provide technical support and collaborate with cross-functional teamsAbility to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing prioritiesKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointFlexibility and Availability
