Our Growth Plans

We process close to 4% of the country&aposs freight on our software platform. Our goal is to get to 20% of the country&aposs freight by 2028. This gives us a bird's eye view of the market. We're already the largest road freight technology platform in the country and we plan to build on this base to drive growth in software, freight marketplace and supply chain financing to get to a 100M USD revenue by 2028.

About The Role

The Ops and Payroll Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operational processes while managing accurate and timely payroll for all employees. This role acts as a bridge between HR, Finance, and Operations to maintain compliance, efficiency, and employee satisfaction.

What You'll Do

  • Team & Service Delivery
  • Lead and coach a 3 member HR Ops and Payroll team.
  • Set clear SLAs for query handling, HR ops tasks, and payroll accuracy.
  • Build a service-oriented culture where employee experience is a priority.
  • Payroll & Compliance
  • Oversee payroll execution, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Optimize payroll processes, reconciliations, and reporting in partnership with Finance.
  • Ensure all statutory requirements are met (PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, TDS, Shops & Establishments, Gratuity, etc.).
  • HR Operations
  • Strengthen existing processes in onboarding, exits, employee documentation, and HR letters.
  • Maintain HRMS data integrity and drive automation of repetitive processes.
  • Partner with IT, Finance, and Business for smooth cross-functional operations.
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency
  • Audit current HR Ops & Payroll processes and identify gaps / duplications.
  • Implement process improvements, automation tools, and dashboards.
  • Standardize workflows to ensure scalability as the company grows.
  • Employee Experience & Vendor Management
  • Be the escalation point for employee payroll / benefits queries.
  • Manage vendors (payroll software, insurance, compliance partners) to ensure high service quality.
  • Continuously improve employee-facing HR operations touchpoints.

What We're Looking For

  • 5–8 years of HR Ops & Payroll experience with at least 1–2 years leading a small team.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian payroll compliance & labor laws.
  • Proven ability to streamline and optimize existing processes, not just set them up.
  • Hands-on experience with HRMS and payroll platforms (Darwinbox, Keka, GreytHR, SAP, etc.)
  • Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a bias for efficiency and automation.
  • Nice to Have

  • Startup or high-growth company experience.
  • Exposure to HR analytics / dashboards for leadership reporting.
  • Process re-engineering / Lean Six Sigma mindset.
