A diversified network of businesses with a presence in more than 30 countries across the Middle East, Europe, and the APAC region is seeking a Total Rewards Director to lead its compensation and benefits strategy globally.
The Total Rewards Director is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Total Rewards and Organizational Design (OD) strategies by translating frameworks into consistent, compliant, and cost-effective programs across ALJ entities. The role supports the Head of Total Rewards & OD in ensuring the efficient deployment of compensation, benefits, and reward policies, while enabling organization-wide design structures, job architecture, and structural change analytics.
Working closely with HRBPs, the CoE, Finance, and business leaders, the TR senior Manager oversees delivery of benchmarking, reward cycle operations, pay communication, and supports OD initiatives such as spans and layers reviews, grading, structural realignment and recommendations, and job analysis. The role is key to maintaining fairness, transparency, and competitiveness in both compensation and organizational design governance.
- Lead and monitor the performance of Total Rewards & OD initiatives, track milestones, and report progress to senior management.
- Translate strategic frameworks into operational plans and mobilize cross-functional teams to deliver on priorities.
- Design and periodically update Total Rewards and OD policies, toolkits, and guidelines in line with market trends and business evolution and ensure that they are compliant.
- Develop governance frameworks for total rewards programs, grading systems, and job design principles.
- Contribute to the HR risk management framework by identifying Total Rewards and OD-related risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Proactively identify regulatory or legal risks in pay / benefits design and recommend mitigation.
- Lead the design and review of salary structures, allowance matrices, and benefits packages – all total rewards instruments.
- Benchmark internal and external pay trends to ensure competitiveness and alignment.
- Oversee annual salary review, bonus, and benefits cycles in partnership with HRBPs and Finance.
- Manage TR & OD projects end-to-end, including planning, execution oversight, stakeholder coordination, and post-implementation review.
- Oversee and respond to off-cycle and ad hoc Total Rewards or OD requests, ensuring alignment with governance, internal equity, and cost frameworks.
- Prepare executive-level reporting packages and ensure alignment with business and HR leadership expectations.
- Drive the evolution and application of the job architecture framework across business units.
- Design, implement, and refine short- and long-term incentive plans aligned with business strategy.
- Monitor eligibility, KPI alignment, payout modeling, and budget impact.
- Manage consultants and providers (e.g. Mercer, WTW, benefits vendors) .
Requirements :
A minimum of 10+ years in total rewards management & OD, preferably in a multinational or regional holding company environment with diverse business units.Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. A higher degree, such as a Master's or MBA, is often preferred or advantageous.Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills for reward budget impact simulations and incentive designIn-depth knowledge of TR & OD principles / Knowledge of compensation strategy, benefits design, job evaluation, and organizational designExcellent analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions and measure the impact of rewards programs.Proficient English written and verbal communication skills.Global exposure or international experience is preferred.
