Role Overview
The NOC Engineer will be responsible for
monitoring, managing, and maintaining telecom and optical network infrastructure
, ensuring high availability, performance, and fault resolution. The role requires hands-on experience in
NMS / EMS / OSS platforms
GPON
, and
MPLS-based
backbone networks used in large-scale telecom or fiber projects.
Network Monitoring & Operations
Monitor network elements and links using
NMS (Network Management System)
and
EMS (Element Management System)
tools.
Identify faults, performance issues, and alarms on
GPON / MPLS / DWDM / SDH
networks.
Escalate critical network incidents to L2 / L3 engineers and coordinate with field teams for restoration.
Maintain real-time visibility of uptime, link utilization, and device health.
Incident & Problem Management
Log and track all incidents in the
OSS (Operational Support System)
or ticketing platform.
Analyze network outages, identify root causes, and recommend preventive actions.
Ensure SLA adherence for incident resolution and reporting.
Configuration & Maintenance
Assist in the configuration and provisioning of
OLT, ONT, Routers, Switches, and Core Devices
Support firmware upgrades, backups, and network configuration documentation.
Coordinate with OEM vendors (e.g., Huawei, Nokia, Tejas, Cisco, Ciena) for troubleshooting and TAC support.
