Demonstrated experience in special equipment and project cargo procurement. Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and vendor management expertise. Knowledge of international shipping documentation, Incoterms, and global trade regulations. Background in white goods, heavy equipment, or manufacturing industries is an advantage. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
We are looking for a seasoned Freight Procurement Specialist with deep expertise in special equipment and project cargo handling. This role is critical in securing the right carriers, negotiating competitive rates, and ensuring smooth, cost-effective transportation for oversized, sensitive, or high-value shipments. The successful candidate will bring strong industry networks, strategic thinking, and a proven track record in delivering optimal freight solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead freight procurement activities, with a focus on specialized equipment such as reefer containers, flat racks, open tops, and heavy-lift gear.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings while maintaining service quality.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and logistics partners.
- Build and nurture long-term vendor relationships to ensure capacity and favorable terms.
- Collaborate closely with supply chain, production, and logistics teams to meet shipping timelines.
- Monitor market trends, freight rates, and carrier performance for continuous improvement.
- Ensure full compliance with trade regulations, safety standards, and customs requirements.
