Latrobe Community Health Service (LCHS) is seeking a passionate Nurse in Preschools to join our Paediatric and Youth Hub. This rewarding, community-based role takes a place-based approach to improving the health and wellbeing of preschool children across the Latrobe Valley.
Based in Churchill (with travel as required), you’ll work closely with preschool staff, families and children to provide on-site nursing support, early intervention, health education and referral coordination—helping children thrive at a critical stage of development.
About the role
Reporting to the Team Leader Nursing, you will:
• Deliver assessments, planning, interventions and evaluations tailored to children and families
• Develop and implement individualised care and support plans
• Provide health information, advice and referral support, including mental health pathways
• Work collaboratively with preschool staff to design and deliver health and wellbeing initiatives
• Engage with vulnerable and hard-to-reach families using trauma-informed practice
• Engage with vulnerable and hard-to-reach families using trauma-informed practice
• Contribute to team planning, quality improvement and professional development
What we’re looking for
You will bring:
• Bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA registration
• Experience working with children, families and/or vulnerable communities
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Understanding of person-centred, culturally appropriate and trauma-informed care
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Victorian Driver’s Licence
