Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chartered Accountant to lead our Finance
& Accounts function. This role is responsible for both Financial Planning & Analysis
(FP&A) and core accounting operations, including the setup of robust processes and
SOPs for a growing real estate business. The ideal candidate will have firsthand
experience in FP&A, but must also possess a solid foundation in accounting, statutory
compliance, and financial controls. You will play a pivotal role in building the finance
department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic business
decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Department Setup & Process Design
- Establish and structure the Finance & Accounts department for a real estate
business.
Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) forall finance and accounting processes.
Set up internal controls, approval workflows, and compliance checklists.2. Core Accounting & Compliance
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accountspayable / receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing andreporting.
Manage statutory compliance (GST, TDS, Income Tax, RERA, etc.) and coordinatewith auditors and consultants.
Prepare and review financial statements as per Indian Accounting Standards (IndAS).
3. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning for projects andthe overall business.
Analyse project cash flows, profitability, and cost structures; provide actionableinsights to management.
Prepare management reports, dashboards, and variance analyses for ongoingprojects and business units.
Support business strategy with scenario modelling, risk assessment, andinvestment analysis.
4. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with project, sales, procurement, and legal teams to ensurefinancial discipline and alignment with business goals.
Liaise with banks, financial institutions, and external consultants for funding,compliance, and advisory matters.
5. Continuous Improvement
Drive automation and digitization of finance processes (ERP, accountingsoftware, etc.).
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.Qualifications & Experience
Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory5–8 years of post-qualification experience in FP&A and core accounting.Experience in real estate or related sectors is preferable but not mandatory.Proven experience in setting up finance functions and designing SOPs.Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, tax laws, and statutorycompliance.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally / ERP systems, and financial modelling.Key Skills
